Astrological Remedies: Do They Really Work?

Millions follow astrological remedies, but very few know which ones actually work.

Before you wear a gemstone or start a ritual, read this first.

ASTROLOGICAL REMEDIES

Most people do not visit an astrologer when life is going smoothly. They usually seek astrological guidance only when something starts going wrong. It may be a problem related to family, finances, career, health, marriage, relationships, or sometimes a series of unexpected events that seem to have no logical explanation. When everything is working perfectly, astrology is often ignored. But when life starts asking difficult questions, people begin searching for answers.

Have you ever noticed that there are phases in life when everything seems to fall into place effortlessly? Opportunities appear at the right time, people support you, and even difficult tasks somehow get completed. Then suddenly, there are other phases when the same person, with the same skills and the same efforts, starts facing delays, obstacles, misunderstandings, and disappointments. What changes? This is the question that has attracted people towards astrology for thousands of years.

Many people believe that the job of an astrologer is to predict every event of life with absolute accuracy. In reality, astrology was never meant to function like a CCTV camera that records every moment of your future. Astrology is much closer to a map than a prediction machine. A map does not show every tree, every shop, every building, or every person you will encounter during a journey. What it does show is the direction, the important turns, the difficult roads, and the areas where extra caution may be needed. In the same way, astrology helps us understand the larger patterns operating in our lives and prepares us for the roads that may become challenging ahead.

This naturally brings us to the most fascinating and controversial part of astrology—the remedies.

Almost every person who consults an astrologer eventually asks the same question:

"What can I do to improve my situation?"

This is where remedies enter the picture. These remedies may involve gemstones, mantra chanting, spiritual practices, rituals, fasting, acts of charity, or donations. Some people swear by them, while others dismiss them completely. Yet millions of people across the world continue to practice them and often report remarkable changes in their lives.

But do these remedies really work?

Can a gemstone change your destiny?

Can chanting a mantra alter the course of events?

Can a simple act of charity reduce the impact of a difficult planetary period?

Or is there something entirely different happening behind the scenes that most people fail to understand?

In the following sections, I will discuss the different types of remedies, how they are believed to work, what results you should realistically expect from them, and where people often misunderstand their true purpose.

What I am sharing here is not merely a collection of textbook theories or information copied from ancient scriptures. It comes from years of observation, practical application, interactions with countless people, and personal experiences that often challenged my own understanding of astrology. Some of the conclusions may surprise you, and a few may even be completely different from what you have heard before.

Now that we have understood the role of remedies, let us look at the most commonly recommended astrological solutions. Over the years, I have observed people spending anywhere from a few hundred rupees to several lakhs in the hope of changing their destiny. Some remedies genuinely produce results, some work only under specific conditions, and some, in my experience, create more expectations than actual outcomes.

What I am sharing here is based on practical observation rather than popular belief.

1. Precious Stones and Astrological Remedies

This is probably the most popular remedy recommended by astrologers. The reason for its popularity, however, is not always its effectiveness. The commercial aspect attached to gemstones is enormous. A gemstone that may be worth ten thousand rupees can sometimes be sold for several lakhs, depending upon the psychology of the buyer and the marketing skills of the seller.

Leaving the financial side aside, the real question is:

Do gemstones actually work?

My answer is both yes and no.

Personally, I rarely recommend gemstones because, after studying hundreds of horoscopes and observing people over long periods, I have found only a few stones that consistently produce noticeable results. Among them, Ruby and Blue Sapphire stand out.

Ruby, when prescribed correctly after a thorough study of the horoscope, can produce measurable and visible effects. If the Sun is genuinely weak and needs strengthening, a properly selected natural Ruby can help improve confidence, authority, self-expression, and overall vitality. However, there is a catch. If the Ruby is heavily heat-treated or artificially enhanced, its effect is often negligible.

Blue Sapphire is an entirely different story.

It is one of the most powerful stones in astrology and can produce dramatic results. However, it is also one of the riskiest. This is why experienced astrologers often advise a trial period before recommending permanent use. If a stone can produce both positive and negative results depending on the individual, it should make us think carefully. After all, if the horoscope has already been analysed thoroughly, why should the outcome still remain uncertain?

Another question rarely discussed is this: what happens if the stone is weak, artificially treated, or unsuitable, and its negative effects appear only after months or even years? These are practical concerns that most buyers never consider.

As for the remaining gemstones, I have personally not seen consistent, tangible results that justify the level of faith often placed in them. In many cases, the benefits appear to be more psychological than astrological. While I do not dismiss gemstones completely, I believe they are often oversold and misunderstood.

2. Mantra Chanting

If I had to choose a single astrological remedy that I have seen work repeatedly, it would be mantra chanting.

Unlike gemstones, which simply sit on the body, mantra chanting requires active participation from the individual. Every mantra carries a specific vibration and frequency. When repeated with discipline and consistency, it gradually influences the mind, emotions, behaviour, and ultimately the circumstances surrounding a person.

This is one reason why mantra chanting is often underestimated.

Most people want a remedy that requires no effort. They would rather wear a stone than spend twenty minutes every day chanting a mantra. Many astrologers understand this psychology very well. They know that if they ask a client to perform a practice regularly, there is a high chance the client will not follow through. As a result, easier remedies are often preferred.

But if we look at astrology from the perspective of karma, this approach makes little sense.

If your present circumstances are influenced by past actions, then meaningful change should also require some form of conscious action. Mantra chanting is exactly that. It is a karmic effort undertaken to bring balance to existing karmic patterns.

Can mantra chanting completely change a person's destiny?

In some cases, the changes I have witnessed have been so dramatic that even I found them difficult to explain through conventional logic. However, the effectiveness depends on choosing the correct mantra and practising it properly.

This is where many people go wrong.

Not every mantra is suitable for every person. A mantra that produces excellent results for one individual may do very little for another. Therefore, if an astrologer does not have a deep understanding of mantra science, it is better to consult someone who specializes in it and can prescribe a mantra according to your specific chart and circumstances.

3. Ashta Lakshmi Remedies

Among the lesser-known remedies, Ashta Lakshmi remedies are some of the most fascinating.

When properly prescribed and performed, they can produce surprisingly positive results, particularly in matters related to prosperity, opportunities, support from people, and overall good fortune.

These remedies are usually connected to the Raja Yogas present in a horoscope. In many cases, the potential for success already exists in the chart, but the yoga remains dormant or inactive. The purpose of these remedies is not to create something that does not exist but to activate the potential that is already present.

This is an important distinction.

Many people believe remedies create destiny. In my experience, the best remedies simply help unlock the destiny that is already available but not fully expressed.

These remedies generally combine mantra practice, spiritual discipline, and, in some traditions, caring for or supporting specific animals. When performed correctly, the results can sometimes appear almost miraculous.

4. Deepak Remedies

This is one of the most underrated areas of astrology.

Very few astrologers discuss Deepak remedies because very few have studied them in depth.

When a person's birth time is accurate, and the placement of the lamp is chosen correctly, remedies involving Ekmukhi, Dwimukhi, Trimukhi, Chaturmukhi, or Ashtamukhi Deepaks can produce surprisingly fast results.

The location, direction, timing, and purpose of the lamp are all important. A correctly placed Deepak acts almost like a subtle energy transmitter that continuously influences the surrounding environment.

Over the years, I have seen results from these remedies that many people would consider extraordinary.

For this reason, whenever possible, I recommend Deepak remedies along with mantra chanting. The two complement each other remarkably well.

5. Water Remedies

Water is one of the most powerful yet overlooked mediums in astrology.

The Moon governs not only the emotional and psychological aspects of human beings but also the movement of water within the body. The same Moon that creates high tides and low tides in the oceans also influences the subtle emotional tides within us.

This is why water-based remedies can be surprisingly effective.

People suffering from:

anxiety,

emotional instability,

excessive fear,

confusion,

overthinking,

disturbed sleep,

or psychological imbalance,

often experience noticeable improvement when appropriate water remedies are prescribed.

Unlike some remedies that may take years to show results, water remedies often begin creating visible changes within a moderate period of time. As emotional balance improves, decision-making improves, relationships improve, and overall life starts moving in a healthier direction.

6. Traditional Planet Worship
Traditional planetary worship is another highly effective category of astrological remedies, although it is often misunderstood. The most important requirement for these remedies is consistency. Unlike gemstones, which are expected to work simply by wearing them, planetary worship requires regular effort and discipline. As a result, the effects are usually gradual rather than immediate.
Many people start these practices with great enthusiasm but discontinue them after a few weeks or months. In such cases, the results are either very limited or completely absent. These remedies work best when they become a part of one's lifestyle rather than a temporary solution to a problem.
One of the most powerful examples is the Surya Arghya remedy, where water is offered to the rising Sun using a copper vessel. In my experience, this simple practice can bring remarkable changes in confidence, vitality, mental clarity, authority, and overall positivity. However, it should not be viewed as a quick fix. The effects generally become visible over a period of months and can be quite significant after a year of regular practice.
The key is consistency. Missing an occasional day may not matter much, but the remedy should be approached as a daily discipline rather than an emergency measure. Traditional planetary worship rewards patience, devotion, and persistence, and for those who practice it sincerely, the long-term benefits can be extraordinary.

A Word About Lal Kitab Remedies

Many people ask me about Lal Kitab remedies.

I do not consider myself an authority on Lal Kitab. My opinion is based purely on personal observation and practical experience.

While many people strongly believe in Lal Kitab, I personally have not witnessed enough tangible and repeatable results to become fully convinced. That does not necessarily mean the system is ineffective. It may simply mean that I have not studied it deeply enough or encountered practitioners who apply it in its original form.

Sometimes I feel that many of the remedies circulating today under the name of Lal Kitab may not accurately represent the original teachings. However, I remain open to being proven wrong.

Astrology, after all, is a subject where experience often teaches lessons that books cannot.

Decoding Rakshasas, Danavas, Daityas, and Asuras: Ancient Races or Misunderstood Legends?

Decoding Rakshasas, Danavas, Daityas & Asuras: Vedic Origins, Reptilian Traits & Genetic Legacy In the vast universe of Hindu scriptures, beings such as Rakshasas, Danavas, Daityas, and Asuras are often misunderstood. These terms are frequently used interchangeably, leading to confusion in identifying their true nature. Ravana, for instance, is primarily referred to as a Rakshasa in Valmiki Ramayana but is also called a Daitya, Danava, and Asura in various modern texts. This inconsistency raises questions: Who exactly are these beings? Are they demonic as often portrayed, or were they ancient, powerful races lost in time? This article seeks to decode these classifications using references from Vedic literature, Itihasas, and Puranas, while drawing parallels to modern science and archaeology to propose that these beings may have roots in ancient genetic experimentation and inter-dimensional evolution.   1. Buddhism vs Hinduism: A Comparative Study of Differences, Similarities & Shared Vedic Teachings

Buddhism vs Hinduism: In-Depth Comparative Study of Atman, Anatta, Karma, Moksha & Nirvana Hinduism is often described as Sanātana Dharma —the “eternal way of life.” Buddhism arose from the same cultural soil but charted its own disciplined path to awakening.  Studying Buddhism vs Hinduism is therefore less a clash between rivals and more a dialogue between two complementary quests for freedom. The Ceasefire Illusion: Why Islamic Nations Abandoned Iran and the Reality of Iran’s Defence Collapse

Why Islamic Nations Didn't Support Iran in the Israel War: Sectarian Faultlines & Geopolitics What forced Iran to halt its war suddenly - was it victory, or a hidden collapse no one saw coming? The truth will surprise you. On a historic yet chaotic night, the world held its breath as Iran’s state-run broadcaster, IRINN , triumphantly declared that a ceasefire had been “ imposed on Israel ” following a supposed successful Iranian strike on a U.S. base in Qatar . As reported by the BBC , the narrative from Tehran implied victory. However, beneath this bravado was a sobering truth: Iran was collapsing from within , militarily exhausted and diplomatically isolated, especially by the very nations it counted as ideological allies, the Islamic world. This war, which many have already termed a short-lived yet symbolically intense conflict between Iran and the Israel-U.S. alliance , has revealed not just the fault lines in Middle Eastern geopolitics but also the st...

Why Do Hindus Perform Idol Worship?

Why Hindus Worship Idols – Meaning, Science & Vedic Symbolism Explained Article By Pradeep Mahaur Understanding the Essence: Symbolism, Science, and Spirituality in Hindu Idol Worship In today’s world of increasing scientific skepticism, idol worship is often viewed as irrational or outdated. Many critics label it as blind faith, arguing that praying to stone, wood, or metal statues cannot yield any tangible benefit. Such dismissals, however, arise from a superficial understanding of a deeply symbolic and spiritually transformative practice. For Hindus, idol worship is not just about the object itself but about what it represents, how it engages the mind and soul, and how it connects the individual with the cosmos. Misconceptions and Historical Assaults on Idol Worship Throughout history, particularly during the Muslim invasions in India, idol worship was not just misunderstood; it was violently targeted. Temples were systematically lo...

Revealed: The Secret Trick to Deep Meditation

When I mention a "shortcut to meditation," many people immediately think there are no shortcuts in life and believe that meditation is an art cultivated over many years of dedicated practice. While I respect and understand this perspective, it's important to recognize that there are efficient and effective methods to practice meditation that have been known and utilized by many for a long time. These methods may not be widely recognized but have proven to be beneficial for those who practice them. The first time I encountered this method of meditation, I decided to give it a try. By that point, I had experimented with and practiced numerous other meditation techniques, but they were all very slow and required a great deal of patience. This particular method, however, worked exceptionally well for me. I had always been told that every individual is unique and that what works for one person might not work for another. As a result, I believed this method was uniquely suite...

Types of Ghosts in Hinduism: Exploring the Invisible Realms Through Vedic Wisdom

Vedic Philosophy of Ghosts & Pancha Kosha: Spirits, Karma, Afterlife Explored In our modern rational world, the term “ghost” often evokes fear, disbelief, or sensationalism. However, when viewed through the lens of Hindu Vedic philosophy, the notion of ghosts shifts from superstition to a deeper metaphysical reality. In this article, I use the term "ghosts" not to entertain the imagination but to decode what wandering souls truly are, how they exist beyond the boundaries of our perception, and how ancient Indian scriptures meticulously describe their nature and types. Why I Choose Rebirth Over Moksha (Liberation): A Spiritual Perspective

The Liberation (Moksha) Everyone Wants - But I Don’t When we talk about Hindu philosophy, one word rises like the Himalayas above all spiritual conversations, that is Moksha . Ask any seeker, monk, yogi, or even a casual temple-goer: “What’s the ultimate goal of life?” and more often than not, you’ll hear the answer: Moksha, or liberation . But here’s where I differ. Despite being deeply spiritual and having experienced states that many yogis strive for their entire lives, I stand here and say, I don’t want Moksha. Not because I doubt it. Not because I don’t understand it. But because I do. And what I understand fills me with awe, not desire. Let’s take this journey together, to explore what Moksha truly is , why billions chase it, and why someone who has tasted both asceticism and royalty chooses to remain in this beautiful illusion called life. Kumbh Mela: The Unspoken Craving for Liberation Let me take you back to a spectacle you may have seen or hea...
